I was going through one of the lowest periods of my life. I was discouraged and broken, and it felt like things would never get better.

I reached out to a mentor, and he advised me to set aside a season to meditate on who God is and how that defines everything else in life. I had already tried and failed a million times to get my life back on track, so I was quite shocked when my mentor's advice worked. I realized that it didn't matter how much I felt like a miserable failure. God still loved me, He was still working, and he was still stronger than any darkness in my life.

The following month, we hosted a 6-week college team, and a couple of the participants were interested in long-term missions. But the high amount of financial support required to be a missionary was a big obstacle in their lives. My wife and I had always dreamed of doing missions in a more economical way because every dollar has the potential to transform someone's life. So we decided that it was time for a change.

As soon as the college team left for America, we went on a 7-day vacation we had planned to recuperate from the hard work of hosting short term teams. During that 7 days, we made some calls to get the ball rolling for Metro Effect and built the guts of the website from our hotel room. Excitement was at an all time high because Metro Effect looked to be the fulfillment of things we had been dreaming of for a long time.

It's been 3 months since that vacation, and I can't believe all that God has done. It's been a tough 3 months. Working through the details has been hard for my wife and I as a couple. There are so many decisions to make, and we are both extremely passionate about this. Plus, we didn't get to take a break from the mission field to work on starting Metro Effect. But God has been incredibly faithful. He has connected us with amazing people filled with the same desires that we have, and He has given us the strength to persevere.

It is exciting to launch Metro Effect to the public, and we hope and pray that God will use it to spread His glory and gospel to some of the darkest places on earth.

It's also nice to finish a specific task that we have been working on so hard for the past few months. There will continue to be tons to do for Metro Effect, but the launch is finished! It's time for a celebration date :)

I am currently serving long term in India. I have a passion for bringing the gospel to unreached slums. My hobbies include singing along to Christian rap music and playing sports.
